Text:   On the third of March, 1881, Doctors John C. McClurkin and J. Cameron McClurkin entered into a contract with the court to furnish medical attendance to the paupers of Albion precinct for one year, commencing March 7, 1881, for the sum of seventy dollars. The same parties, on the same day, contracted to furnish medical attendance to the paupers of Dixon precinct, one year for nine dollars.

Text:   Memorial tablets and portraits commemorating the work of four men in the Y.M.C.A., Evansville, were unveiled in the lobby of the building February 17, 1924. The men honored were: Dr. Joseph Cameron McClurkin, Major James L. Orr, Major A. C. Rosencranz, and Lieut. Charles Judson McGrew. Dr. McClurkin is yhe only surviving one of the four.

Text:   The City hospital is a private enterprise, being instituted by some of Evansxille's most respectable and skilled physicians, among them Drs. W. S. Pollard, R. Hartloff, E. Walker, G. Hodson, J. Kerth, J. C. McClurkin, and E. Linthicum and others. It received its first patients in 1883, and has since done much good.
