Probate Summary of the Thomas McClurken (1805 – 1867) Estate

When Thomas McClurken died, on January 10, 1867, he had the following assets:
· $3092.14 in Goods, Chattels and Personal Property
· $200.00 in a loan to one individual
· $327.12 in rent due him
Total $3619.26
From this total, deductions were:
· $217.19 representing 6% commission on $3619.26
· $1250.18 in outstanding loans, debts and other expenses
· $801.10 for the widow’s selection allowance of personal property
The net balance of $1350.79 was divided, as follows:
· $450.26 to Martha McClurken, the widow
· $112.56 to Robert McClurken
· $112.56 to John C. (J. C.) McClurken
· $112.56 to Samuel R. (S. R.) McClurken
· $112.56 to Elizabeth S. (Lizzie S.) McClurken
· $112.56 to Thomas. D. (T. D.) McClurken
· $112.56 to Elizabeth A. Beall, guardian for Harriet Louise McClurken, daughter of deceased son, Archibald
· $112.56 to David F. (D. F.) McClurken ($114.08 on May 18, 1871)
· $112.56 to Mary I. McClurken ($114.08 on May 18, 1871)
In addition to the above, Thomas owned five parcels of real estate, totaling 280 acres, valued at $5160.00.
The disposition of the real estate was not addressed in the probate records.
The administrator of the estate was T. D. McClurken, son of the deceased.
